Questions About Our
System Boards

Which system board is the right one for my facility?

The first question you should ask yourself is: “Who will be climbing on the board?”

Should it primarily be suitable for strong climbers?
Do you also want to appeal to beginners?
Should the board also be used for children’s birthday parties or events?

Recommended boards depending on the target group:

Hard: Kilterboard Full Ride, Tension Board, MoonBoard (angle: 20°–70°)
Everyone: Spraywall/Lumo Board, Kilterboard Original, Tension Board (angle: 20°–70°)
Easy: Spraywall/Lumo Board, Kilterboard Original (angle: 0°–50°)

What possibilities does my building offer?

This is about the structural and spatial conditions:

– What mounting options are available?
– Where should the board be installed?
– How wide and high is the room?

In our system board brochure you will find all the details on room width, room height and mounting options clearly explained.

Where/how can the board be mounted in your building?

What options does your building offer?

  • Wall mounting possible (structurally load-bearing wall/reinforced concrete)? Perfect!
  • No wall mounting? → Mounting to ceiling and floor (reinforced concrete)
  • Not possible either? → Freestanding construction

This is exactly where a personal consultation is especially important in order to find the best solution.

Are the system boards durable and suitable for long-term use?

Yes. Our boards are waterproof-glued, do not absorb moisture indoors and are especially dimensionally stable thanks to technically dried wood. Rectangular, solid cross-sections ensure high stability and low vibration, while reinforced areas guarantee a long service life even under heavy use.

What about maintenance, fire protection and material protection?

The boards meet fire protection class B2 (normal flammability), as is common in climbing gyms. The surface sealing is durable and low-maintenance. In addition, the wood is treated against fungi and insects, making it particularly robust and easy to maintain.

Are the system boards TÜV-tested and certified?

Yes, our system boards have been certified by TÜV Thüringen. In addition to two load tests, comprehensive structural documentation was reviewed, including load assumptions, safety factors and the stability of the construction. In addition, risk analyses were carried out regarding electrical and chemical risks, the wall inclination, the possible failure of an adjustment motor, and risks for users.
The system boards comply with the tested standards DIN 7892DIN EN 60204‑1 and ‑32 as well as DIN EN 12572‑2 for bouldering walls and bouldering mats.
